Located in Kahana, conveniently nestled between Ka'anapali and Kapalua on the West coast of Maui. The property (Pohailani) also offers two pools, a tennis court, a pickleball court, and BBQ areas. It is only a short drive to restaurants, shops, and more in the heart of Kahana. A large grocery store is a 5-minute drive away. The small Kapalua airport is just a mile away. If you're a jet setter, you can hop on a quick flight to a neighboring island.
Pohailani Oceanside is 'Hotel' zoned and is intended for tourism. Therefore, it is safe from Maui's pending short-term rental ban, which could affect short-term rentals in 'Apartment' zoned areas.
Perched on the second floor, this unit offers added privacy and breezes. Please note there is NO elevator, so access is via stairs only. For this reason, it may not be suitable for guests with mobility challenges or those who prefer step-free access. First time in the newly renovated condo and really enjoyed our stay. The views of Lana'i & Moloka'i we great, actually seeing the top of Moloka'i! A rare sight according to people we talked with. Central local in Kahana allows for easy travel up & down the west side. Saw an incredible show of whales from the balcony and sorry I didn't take more pics.
Condo was clean, nicely appointed and comfortable for 2 people. A little small for more than that. Overall a nice location for what we call "our vacation from vacation" - hanging out in a great place.
We booked this unit right when it became available. It had no reviews, but we were happy to take the leap of faith given the great reputation of Hula Hideaways. A big selling point of Hula Hideaways is their 11am/3pm check-in/check-out times, please keep that up, it makes a huge difference to customers! The unit was perfect. It's only big enough for two people but that was well known at booking. The condition of the unit and view outside are perfectly represented in the booking, it's perfect! While small, the unit had everything you could need. A great supply of high-quality towels was a welcome change from most short term rentals. The location is perfect, quick drive down to Kaanapali or up to Kapalua. Two points for potential renters: the unit is in an older building with no elevators, you must be comfortable bringing your luggage upstairs. And, the assigned parking spot is next to a wall and a tight fit; those not comfortable navigating their vehicle in and out of a tight spot could find it difficult to park - but, there are guest spots available if you can't get your rig parked. Hula Hideaway had amazing communication, we couldn't have asked for anything more from a short term rental! We will return soon!
