Honua Kai - Konea 215

This was the perfect condo for my husband, 7 year old and 4 year old. It was home away from home. Great location, awesome pools and view. The management team was great as well. Everything was clean and had everything you needed for a beach day. It was hard to leave this paradise but we can’t wait to go back to this condo. Just book it... you won’t be disappointed!

We had a wonderful vacation staying in this condo! It is cute room with an amazing view of the resort and the ocean. It is walking distance from the beach, a grocery store, and a food truck park. The resort the room is in is beautiful and really gives the luxury vacation feel even though it is much cheaper than the comparable hotels on the island. The property manager was great and very helpful. The A/C unit broke while we were there, and she responded to us immediately and got it fixed very quickly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice stay in Maui!

We kept debating where to stay in advance of booking our Maui travel — since my husband had never been to Maui ever, and I hadn’t been in 11 years, we wanted the “full resort experience” and so I had toggled with booking at Honua Kai vs. a “full service” resort like the Westin.

Turns out, Honua Kai has everything you could ever need in a “full resort” between the amazing pools, poolside service, fancy umbrella drinks, a market, helpful staff, and full service Dukes restaurant right on site.

This rental in particular — was clean as could be, nice view, comfortable beds, well-working AC (we really needed this lol) , spotless full size kitchen with everything we needed .... It felt like home for 10 days and the property manager was super helpful & responsive .

We loved this resort / property so much that we even cancelled a day pass (Resort Pass) cabana that we had arranged at another resort ... because why??? We didn’t need it. This place is beautiful, chill relaxing and just “busy” enough to feel like you aren’t isolated (and we made new friends! :)

Room 215 was an excellent room. Clean, perfect location, view and everything that you would need for two people. We had a wonderful time and would 100% stay in this room again. Mahalo!

A well appointed unit in a condo community with great amenities for family fun.

This was a great location for our babymoon! The process was very smooth from the start and everything was communicated clearly with reminders to help with the checkin and checkout process. The room was clean and has everything we needed for our stay including beach accessories!

It’s also pretty close to some great restaurants and spots to access the beach!

This place was perfect for our stay! Great location, clean and well furnished. We loved walking to Dukes, hanging out in the hot tub and pools in the evenings and using the outside BBQ! We never had a problem finding a spot at the pool but we did go later in the afternoon/evening. Owners were great communicators and made sure we were happy. For the price and location you can't beat it. We would happily stay here again. Thank you!

My husband and I booked the condo at the Honua Kai and could not be happier. It was everything we had hoped for and more! The place was clean and very nice and we loved the ocean view with the balcony. We had a beautiful staycation at this property. The space is beautifully decorated, it’s clean and comfortable and has everything you could need for your days at the beach. The building the unit is in is clean and quiet. Overall we will definitely be back to stay again!!

As a single traveler safety is always first for me. The location, staff and premises felt very safe. Exceptionally clean. Also used fitness area on location which was clean and equipment in good working order

Everything we needed was available in this room. It was well kept and the bed was very comfortable. Not the greatest view of the ocean but there is one (this didnt matter much to us as we were out and about a lot). Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for 9 nights. The Honoa Kai Konea is a very high end condominium complex. Amazing pools and grounds. The unit was clean, however, it seems that it has not been kept up appliance wise. For example, the a/c was not working when we arrived, bathtub didn’t stop up, ice machine had been turned off and left ice trays in freezer. I called and they sent maintenance that day, and it was all fixed.

While those issues were fixed quickly, the other appliances were old and not use to what I would expect from this property. Just because this is Hawaii and we had a fabulous time, the owners have not updated any appliance. I got to the point that I didn’t even cook anymore since there was NO GARBAGE DISPOSAL, and the dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes.. so, I ended up fishing food out of the sink and washing dishes myself, that is not what I want to do on my 20 year anniversary vacation, in addition, the hot water tank would run out, to the point that I couldn’t even take a bath, hot water would run out. When I went to iron my sold dress that I bought for pictures, the iron spat out mildewed sand all over my dress. Last night, hubby got out vacuum to vacuum up sand, and it didn’t work!

Again, the problem is this unit has not maintained appliances and I do not believe up to the standards of the Honoa Kai. There was missing flooring pieces, again. Owners need to keep this up to what it was when they bought it. I feel like the wool was pulled over my eyes since you can’t tell these little things online, until you get there. If these little things don’t bother you, then, this is a great place. I will come back to Honoa Kai, but will make sure the unit I rent has been maintained.

The Hula Hideaway team was absolutely amazing for mine and my husbands honeymoon. The room was beautiful with a view and all amenities even beach chairs, towels and so much more. I booked a year before traveling and the team was extremely quick to answer and and all of my questions which was greatly appreciated. It was worth every penny ☺️

Place was very clean and perfect for my husband and I. This place was in the perfect location and very relaxing.

Starting off with the positives before we get to the negatives, the location was great! We were right off the beach with a beautiful view of mountains in the distance. The restaurant Dukes was hands down the place to eat in Maui and all of the staff there were the absolute nicest people. I can’t say enough good about dukes. But to the negatives, the floors are so thin that you will hear your neighbors moving the furniture around all times of the day and night. Most of the staff in the resort itself are ok but we had a couple people who were just plain rude. One of my biggest negatives are the room itself. The tub doesn’t seal at all, so you can’t use it. You can’t turn down the ac, we had it “set” to 65 but it never actually went down past 71. Also some of the cups and appliances don’t work. Some of the cups were cracked and the toaster itself the inside burners don’t work only the outsides ones. And lastly we heard several nights the scurrying and chewing sounds of a mouse or rodent type creature. We paid 3000 for 9 days. I personally think it could’ve been better.

This place was fantastic! The bed was comfortable. The Wi-Fi was easy to figure out. The amenities like the swimming pools, nice restaurant, and especially concierge‘s to handle any booking needs were great. We had a bit of a hiccup with the AC and went two nights without AC. There’s a ceiling fan that moved a bit of air, but we ended up going in purchasing A standup fan and donated it to the next guest, when we left. All in all it was a great studio.

The condo was exactly as pictured. Very clean and a lot was provided. It was a great location and the view from the room was lovely.

Hula Hideaway was wonderful. It was well laid out, clean and is in a great location. The owners have put a lot of thoughtful touches into it so you have all the amenities you need. It is the perfect place for a fun tropical get away.

We had an amazing stay at the Honua Kai in March 2021. Our unit was spotless, well equipped and exactly as described. Jill was fantastic to work with and was very helpful with helping us when the airlines changed our flights and we ended up in Maui for an extra night. Highly recommend staying at the Honua Kai and renting thru Hula Hideaway.

Jill Marzo from Hula Hideaway was responsive and delightful to work with. Unit 215 had everything we could possibly need. Kitchen was well furnished and there were thoughtful touches like beach chairs, beach umbrella and even a bogie board.

This rental was amazing. The location was perfect, and the amenities at the resort couldn’t have been better. We were also very pleasantly surprised to see how full of a kitchen it was. We were able to cook in a few nights so that we could just enjoy ourselves at the resort. We assumed you would have to make do with limited pots, pans, and utensils. However, it was fantastic that we had essentially a full kitchen like at home. The cleanliness was great, and everyone was very friendly. Check in and out was also very easy. Thank you!

5+ Stars! This is my first time staying at the Honua Kai Resort and it was beyond amazing.

With 3 swimming pools, 7 hot tubs, waterfalls, waterslides, full bar and food, etc., this place has everything. The grounds are absolutely beautiful!

The owner of this beautiful studio unit provided all the amenities and more. Very clean and inviting, thank you!

Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you can imagine. Pots, pans, toaster, waffle maker, coffee maker, microwave, etc. Just go to the store across the street or Costco near the airport and you’re all set.

Bathroom had a double sink with separate shower and bath. Towels were provided and sample toiletries.

We used the lanai every day for breakfast and dinner. Over lanai faced a partial ocean view which was perfect for the sunrise or sunset.


A big plus was having your own washer and dryer. Especially when coming back from the beach.

Large screen TV, board and card games, etc. were available.

Parking underground is plentiful and easy to get to your room.

Going to the beach? They were nice enough to provide a ice cooler, boogie board, 3 beach chairs, etc.

I will definitely come back here every time I visit Maui. Staying at the Honua Kai definitely made my Maui vacation much more pleasant.

Perfect location on Kaanapali Beach. Beautiful building and grounds.

We found that the studio was perfect for us. The layout felt spacious. Both the bathroom and kitchen were larger than some of the one and two- bedroom units. Both were very well stocked. The lanai extended our usable living area. The second floor location provided convenient access to the main outside area as well as a view of the central courtyard, grounds and ocean. The unit was extremely clean and well maintained. To put it simply, we loved it and hope to return for a longer stay next time.

Everything was great. Jill is lovely to work with and Hula Hideaway provides excellent customer service. Look no further when staying in Maui. You wont be disappointed.

Everything was absolutely perfect. This was our second stay here and it has been an amazing place to stay. Condo is well maintained and beautifully decorated. It has a great view from the lanai of the beautiful grounds and the ocean beyond.

This large studio has everything a person needs and is tucked in the corner for a beautiful view of the courtyard and ocean. Beach chairs, body boards, umbrellas, pool tubs & lots of board games/books. Kitchen is well stocked as well. Amazing customer service at Hula Hideaway. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The room was absolutely perfect for us on our honeymoon! It was clean and had everything anyone would need to cook and have a beach day. Will be booking again in the future!

We stay at Honua Kai frequently. The condo was great, clean, lots of stuff for beach days and great view. WE will be staying again for sure.

One complaint, some days (2 out of the 5) by the pool( the bigger pool next to kids pool) there was a foul smell, not sure what that was but not pleasant at all.

The condo looked exactly like I was expecting, and the property was even more than I expected! The condo was stocked with everything we needed, and everything was in excellent condition. We loved our time there and would definitely book here again. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in April 2019. The property was enormous, new looking, and clean. Great interior design in the condo! The live plant was a nice touch. We found speakers with a Hawaiian CD. Everything we needed was included, even the smaller things-dish soap, coffee filters, laundry detergent, etc. We had 2 beach umbrellas for our use which is great for a couple that burns easily! We appreciated the safe for our personal belongings. My only suggestion would be to provide coffee travel mugs. There’s a parking lot with food trucks within walking distance. The only downside to the resort was the lack of beach and the quantity of children. The pools were overfilled with babies and kids. Just something to be aware of if the pool is important to you. The market in the lobby was helpful-we got a few essentials throughout our stay. The wrist bands that let you into your room, the parking garage, and get you pool towels reminded me of Disney’s “magic bands. The employees were helpful with check-in. They have crates to hold your groceries to carry up to your room. The parking spots were tight, we were glad to have a sedan and not an SUV. We never had a problem finding a spot, but we never came home late. As there is construction around the property, you will see fences but the sound was never a problem for us since we faced the interior. The sound between rooms was not a problem either. You could see the ocean from the room through the trees and we saw a sailboat go by a few times. The toilet made a few high-pitched noises that came and went, and the ice machine woke us up a few times throughout the night, but other than that, the condo was perfect. Location wise, you are more North here, so we usually drove 1-2 hours each day to get where we were going (Big Beach down south, Road to Hana, Mama’s Fish House, Haleakala Crater).

My husband and I really enjoyed the stay at Honua Kai. Room was supplied with everything we needed and more and was very clean. This property is clean and well maintained. Great location to the beach walk which we walked every day. Only downside is the adult only area is too small and it was difficult to find chairs by the pool. Since its was cold for some the hot tubs were filled with kids.

We had a great time at the Honua Kai Konea Tower. Jill's Studio unit was very clean, well-maintained, and equipped with a fantastic kitchen layout. The photos in the listing are an accurate representation of the unit; I would highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation.

We had a great stay at the Hula Hideaway. The condo was very clean, beautiful and in a great location. The kitchen provided us with everything we needed to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner if we chose to eat in. It is located in a gorgeous resort area on Ka'anapli beach but is within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

To say this place is beautiful, is a complete understatement. Aside from it's looks, the functionality is flawless. The kitchen is filled with all sorts of this for you to use for your stay, and the closet is also filled with beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and water toys. We had a BLAST on our honeymoon, and could not have chosen a better place to stay. The view is wonderful, and the balcony is the perfect size for 2! Thankfully, Parking is "included" in your booked cost, so we didn't have to worry about where to park our rental car (they have underground personal parking, or valley option)

This property is right along the board walk. We didn't know that, as on many maps it is not considered the beach walk, but we walked every day down to Whalers village. Very well kept up!

No words can describe how perfect everything was, from service, to exceptional food and beauty everywhere you turn. I would rent this until again and would recommend it to anyone that wants to get away for a romantic adventure.

We had a beautiful 5 night stay late July. We had amazing communications with the owner and property manager. Check in process was fast and easy. We did have an issue with our AC unit the first day, which was a hassle but it did get fixed the same day. The owners reached out to ensure after the AC unit was fixed that everything was going. I appreciated the follow up!

Our Maui honeymoon was truly an amazing experience and it all started at Honua Kai. We met Maria who gave us a tour of the resort and showed us to room 215. This was a studio condo and it was truly amazing. Amazing views, accessibility to all of the amenities offered, and comfort just like we were living at home. I could not say enough happy things about our experience at Honua Kai!
